New Hope Ministries – India Newsletter

Dear Beloved Friends,

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from India!

The rainy season has begun in our land, and each day we see the farmers joyfully returning to their fields to sow their seed. In the same way, we believe that “the LORD will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest” (Psalm 85:12). As the farmer plants his seed in the cultivated soil, so too, God is cultivating the hearts of people in our nation, preparing them to receive the incorruptible seed of His Word.

Month after month, we are witness to the Lord increasing our faith and hope, as His presence becomes evident in every area of ministry He has opened doors for us to serve. Truly, “faithful is He who calls you, who also will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

We recently had the great joy and privilege to welcome to our home some of our dear friends from America. We first met them in 1984 when they came to help my father Phillip in ministry and they have faithfully supported New Hope ever since. In those early years the accommodations for visiting friends was quite austere, as there were no western style restrooms, no air conditioning, and sometimes not even a mattress to sleep on in the villages. Yet, out of their great love for the Lord and His people, they endured all manner of hardship to serve the kingdom of God in India.

Our friends brought their sons and grandchildren with them to witness the work

God is doing in India, to inspire them and to pass the vision to the next generation. “One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts” (Psalm 145:4).

During their visit we conducted a pastor’s seminar to strengthen and encourage our leaders who are serving faithfully in the face of continuing persecution. We also visited New Hope High School and they were amazed at how the mighty hand of God is working among the younger generation. They saw the transformation in the lives of the children and glorified the Lord. Their grandchildren now teenagers had a blessed time interacting with our 9th and 10th grade students, sharing wisdom, testimonies, and encouragement. We also held a vibrant young adults meeting and a powerful women’s fellowship. Our

guests shared their testimonies with great love. They were deeply moved as they heard how God has lifted many women out of poverty, brokenness, and despair, into a place of hope and dignity.

Additionally, they visited newly planted churches, spent time with pastors, elders, and deacons, and prayed over them. The fruit of these ministries is for the glory of God alone. “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples” (John 15:8).

It is always an honor to share with you the hope and encouragement we receive when we are visited by our great friends and supporters. But please know that we are just as grateful for your continued prayers and generous support. Without your partnership, it would not be possible to accomplish this God given work. We warmly invite you to visit and witness firsthand what the Lord is doing here through

the seeds you have sown. “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” (Galatians 6:9).

While we were still rejoicing in the joy of the blessings we had received through our friends visit, we were suddenly struck with devastating news. I received a call that my elder brother, Isaac Papabathini, had been involved in a fatal auto accident and he is now in the presence of our Lord. Isaac was the fourth out of ten siblings (two sisters and eight brothers), and I am the fifth. His unexpected passing has

been a great shock to our entire family, and we are grieving deeply. Yet, we find comfort in knowing that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8).

I humbly request your prayers for God’s peace and comfort upon our family during this time of sorrow. Once again, thank you for your love, prayers, and sacrificial giving. We truly value your partnership in advancing the Kingdom of God in India. May the Lord continue to bless you and your family abundantly.

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think… to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20–21)
